Physiological Sensor Prototype
AII has developed a physiological sensor that when combined with a
heart-rate strap, can provide skin temperature, humidity, visible,
IR and UV light levels, 3-axis accelerometer, 2-axis gyro,
and heart-rate wirelessly to the Sensor Hub where all the readings
are logged. This sensor has endless uses, from sports training to the
live monitoring of firefighters in a burning building.
The image below shows the top/bottom views of each component that
makes up the sensor. The first component is AII's ZigBee PRO sensor module,
containing a temperature and humidity sensor on the top, and ZigBee PRO wireless
module on the bottom.
The middle component contains the accelerometer and battery charging circuitry
on the top, and Polar heart-rate receiver and lithium battery on the bottom.
On the right is the plastic case. The module on the left, plugs into the
center module, which is contained in the case.
